The Gospel of Mark was the first recorded Gospel but is oftentimes the most neglected. While it doesn’t begin with the Christmas narratives like Matthew and Luke, or a highly divine description of Jesus like John does, Mark tells us the awesome story of how God has come in the person of Jesus, in order to deliver His people from exile—because God’s Kingdom has finally arrived! This study will explore how God’s Kingdom was inaugurated by Jesus’ first coming, how He became King by becoming a servant, and how God’s people are to live in His Kingdom today. This class is beneficial for people who are currently serving as leaders at Golden Hills, or who want to become equipped to be a future leader.

Led by Vinnie Angelo, this class is for Small Group Leaders (and potential leaders) and will be conducted like a workshop. While there will be a lecture component, there will also be table discussions and reflection points, as the class will learn in the context of group leadership.

This is a recommended commentary at the easier level. It is based on a sermon series by Timothy Keller, and will be less scholarly, but will provide some background information.

This commentary series is meant to bridge the scholarly to the practical. It will contain background information, but will also contain an application section as well.

This is a more technical commentary. It will provide some application, but is primarily aimed at exploring background and exegetical information.
