Biblical Theology is the attempt of scholars to look at themes that run throug the biblical narrative. This is different from Systematic Theology, which attempts to create "doctrines" and understand biblical categories (the doctrine of the Trinity, the doctrine of hell, etc).

Here are some good introductory Biblical Theologies:

*Dr. Graeme Goldsworthy writes a basic Biblical Theology to show the unity of the biblical narrative (from Genesis to Revelation), and presents how the OT and NT fit together.

"According to Plan: The Unfolding Revelation of God in the Bible" Graeme Goldsworthy

*Michael Lawrence provides a book on the practical importance of Biblical Theology. This is a great book for leaders (especially Lay Leaders) who are looking to develop their understanding of how to read the Bible, and understand the Biblical story.

"Biblical Theology in the Life of the Church: A Guide for Ministry"Michael Lawrence

*In Dr. Schreiner's Biblical Theolgy, he follows the theme of the "2 seeds" through the Bible. This is a very good resource to use as you read through the Bible (Genesis - Revelation)

"The King in His Beauty: A Biblical Theology of the Old and New Testament" Thomas Schreiner

*In Dr. Beale's Biblical Theology, he follows the theme of the "temple" through the Bible, showing how the Garden of Eden was the first temple, and how Jesus is the ultimate temple!

"God Dwells Among Us: Expanding Eden to the Ends of the Earth" G.K. Beale (2014)
