Class: The Sermon on the Mount: Discipleship from the Heart of Jesus

When: 1/22/17 – 3/26/17

Time: 10:55am – 12:05pm

Where: Room W247

Teachers: Pastor Matt Pierce & Vinnie Angelo

Pastor John Stott describes the Sermon on the Mount as:

“a challenge to the world to be counter-culture…because the followers of Jesus are to be different from the nominal church and the secular world.”

The Sermon on the Mount is considered to be the most famous sermon ever given, and is Jesus’ clearest teaching for how his followers should look. In other words, disciples of Jesus live a life that looks like the Sermon on the Mount - so come along with us for 10 weeks as we learn how to do this!

During this class we hope to accomplish 3 things:

1. To grow in our ability to read the Bible, and develop interpretation skills to better understand Jesus’ original context and culture.

2. To apply Jesus’ teachings and experience them in our world.

3. To be equipped as a disciple, and to disciple and lead others in the church.
